Carrie Ann Moran is a Senior Research Assistant specialising in Design Thinking for Sustainability Projects within the Sustainability Action Research and Innovation team. She joins TU Dublin with two decades of expertise in sustainability and the circular economy. Throughout her career, she has supported social enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the charitable sector in implementing best practices. Notably, she spent twelve years as a member of the senior management team at the Rediscovery Centre.
In addition to her extensive industry and management experience, she has served in several advisory capacities. She was a member of the advisory panel for the national implementation of the Circular Economy Waste Action Plan, specifically addressing fashion and textiles. Furthermore, she contributed her expertise to the European Commission's Social Innovation Project.
In her current position with the CRAWL project and other SAR&I initiatives, Carrie Ann is dedicated to improving the accessibility of research outputs for interdisciplinary stakeholders and the general public. Her work includes creating an educational toolkit for air quality awareness and organising engaging events that encourage community participation and education.
Renowned for her adaptability and collaborative nature, Carrie Ann excels in building meaningful relationships across all levels of an organisation. As a team leader, she is committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for students, colleagues and stakeholders.
Carrie Ann holds a Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability, a postgraduate degree in Environmental Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Law, and a Diploma in Fashion Design. In 2021, she authored the first scoping review focused on the Irish fashion industry's ability to adopt sustainable practices through circular economic principles.
