Why a Role Model Campaign?
Research consistently shows that role models can significantly impact confidence, career aspirations, and personal growth, especially for women. The 2023 iWISH Survey reports over 50% of transition year students in Ireland cite a lack of female role models as a barrier to considering STEM careers.
And the impact of role models doesn't stop in secondary school - a 2022 study from the UK found that 43% of women believe they would be more successful if they had a role model in the workplace, “with 57% believing that having a relatable role model is crucial to achieving career success and 70% agreeing it’s easier to be like someone you can see.”
Enter our Spotlight Role Model Campaign - a simple yet powerful way to make a difference. By dedicating just one hour of your time, your story can be captured through a fun interview, showing others the range of diverse pathways available. Help us empower others by sharing your journey - every voice matters!
The Need To Know:
Anyone can be a role model. Don't think you are? Think again...
The campaign is open to:
- all genders and identities.
- individuals at any stage of their education or career journey.
- individuals based in Ireland and abroad.
- individuals that can meet in person or online.
What's involved?
Just one hour of your time. If selected for the live campaign, individual participation may include:
- Attending a photo shoot and having your picture and video taken for the campaign.
- Appearing in digital and print media campaigns including on-campus digital screens.
- Being promoted as a TrailblazHER™ Role Model.
- Providing profile information to enable content creation in line with the campaign's objectives.
- Optional participation in our sister campaign ‘A Day in the Life’ series.
