Linda’s qualifications are in the disciplines of optometry, psychology and higher education. She holds a BOptom and MPhil (Rand Afrikaans University, South Africa), PhD in Optometry (DIT, ROI), BScHons (Psychology) (Open University, UK), MSc in Work & Organisational Psychology (DCU Business School, ROI), MA in Higher Education (DIT, ROI), and is currently undertaking a PhD in Higher Education: Research, Evaluation & Enhancement (Lancaster University, UK). She is also a CORU (ROI) and General Optical Council (UK)-registered optometrist and is a registered graduate psychologist with both the Psychological Society of Ireland and the British Psychological Society. Prior to joining the Quality Framework Team, Linda worked as an optometry lecturer developing, delivering, assessing, and leading on a variety of theoretical, practical and clinical modules on two CORU-accredited programmes. This included clinical supervision of optometry students undertaking clinical practice in the National Optometry Centre, as well as mentoring and assessment of optometry students undertaking optometric work placement. Responsibilities during this time also extended to being a work package lead on the TU Dublin’s IMPACT project, and supervision and examination of DIT/TU Dublin’s Learning, Teaching and Assessment Unit MSc and MA in education and applied e-learning student dissertations.
As an Academic Quality Advisor, Linda collaborates with colleagues in the Quality Framework Team, and other colleagues in Academic Affairs, to develop TU Dublin quality assurance and enhancement policies and processes. She also has responsibility for advising and supporting staff of the Faculty of Sciences and Health in the implementation of these policies.
