Learning, Teaching & Assessment
The Learning, Teaching and Assessment (LTA) team works closely with faculties, discipline teams, and staff involved in teaching, to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment at TU Dublin. We bring a commitment to research-informed teaching that promotes a programme-based culture and helps to create a quality and inclusive learning experience for all our students. The team offers a range of academic development opportunities for staff who teach, including events and workshops, consultative support, and accredited and non-accredited postgraduate CPD modules and programmes.
Our team also work to support Academic Affairs' vision in advancing a distinct TU Dublin student learning experience through the implementation of the Education Model, enabled by innovative use of technology and informed scholarship of teaching and learning.
Our responsibilities include:
- Producing and disseminating pedagogical resources and professional development opportunities to support teaching, learning and assessment activities across the University
- Providing targeted LTA consultation, academic support and development to Faculties, Schools and staff
- Supporting and coordinating internal and externally funded education development strategic projects
- Working in conjunction with the relevant units, provide and manage strategically aligned inclusive CPD resources that are designed to meet the needs of academic staff at different stages of their teaching career.

LTA Affiliates
The LTA team have always relied on support and contributions from academic colleagues from across TU Dublin. We were delighted therefore to establish in 2023 an annual panel of LTA Affiliates - with the aim to recognise, support and value different staff contributions from across TU Dublin. Following an open call to all TU Dublin staff in May 2024, our second panel is now in place and we look forward to collaborating on Academic Affairs-led LTA academic development activities, projects and initiatives that are of potential benefit to the wider TU Dublin learning community.
