A licensed classroom polling tool for TU Dublin

Vevox is a new and licensed classroom polling tool available to all TU Dublin staff. It can be used in both the virtual classroom and in the face-to-face classroom.

Classroom polling is typically used to increase engagement, check on understanding and build a sense of community.  And sometimes just to create some fun. Vevox allows you to put quick MCQs to your students, create word clouds, get instant qualitative and anonymous feedback and much more.

It is a flexible tool with 3 workflows:

  1. Vevox in Browser - Switch to a separate browser to run a Vevox session (suitable for virtual and face-to-face classroom)
  2. Vevox in PPT- Embed Vevox polls within your existing PPTs (suitable for virtual and face-to-face classroom)​​​​​​​
  3. Vevox in Teams - Use directly within the Teams interface (suitable for virtual classroom only) 

 

Vevox is the new licensed classroom polling software available to all TU Dublin staff. It is typically used to promote in-class engagement, check comprehension and help build community.

Participants (mainly TU Dublin students) access Vevox anonymously and no personally identifying material is automatically collected by the Vevox App. 

It is not expected that Vevox will be used by TU Dublin staff to ask students or other participants to submit personally identifying material (e.g names, addresses, PPSN numbers, student numbers etc). Such information can only ever be requested from students or other participants when there is a lawful basis for its request. If you anticipate using Vevox to gather personally-identifying information from participants please be sure to review TU Dublin's GDPR and privacy policies to ensure that you remain compliant.

All responses to Vevox classroom polling will be deleted by Vevox once per year - expected to be July of each year. Your polls and questions will remain available to you but participant / student responses will be deleted from the Vevox servers.
(Note: If essential, it is possible for you to download Vevox responses - however you will then be the data controller for this data and will need to ensure that it is stored in compliance both with the TU Dublin Data Protection Policy and your school/departmental Data Retention Schedule).

All TU Dublin staff can avail of the institutional Vevox licence

 

  • If you are already logged into your TU Dublin Office account you will get a message saying "Your organization TU Dublin already has a Vevox account".

 

  • When you see this message click on the "Request Access" button
