Moy Materials Scholarship for Architectural Technology
Moy Materials is an established waterproofing full system provider for the roofing sector and fund a TU Dublin scholarship programme to support Architectural Technologists of the future.
MOY are delighted to partner with the Dublin School of Architecture, TU Dublin and its 3rd year BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology students. The scholarship arises from and builds upon an affiliation MOY have had with the Dublin School of Architecture over the past 20 years through industry presentations, site visits and architectural technology graduate engagement initiatives.
“The MOY scholarship is our way to support future talent and help alleviate some of the financial hardship students experience especially in these unprecedented pandemic times. Alongside this will also be onsite training in specialised roofing systems with us at MOY, additionally we will look to partner with a leading architectural firm who will mentor the chosen student providing invaluable insight to the sector. We really look forward to developing our affiliation with TU Dublin who we’ve established strong links with over the past number of years through presenting our industry CPD’s to students of architecture and architectural technology” said Cathal Quinn Global Commercial Director.
The Moy Materials Scholarship for Architectural Technology aims to support a 3rd year Architectural Technology student who has demonstrated a combination of steady academic achievement and engagement with a clear sense of their future role as an Architectural Technologist in practice. The scholarship is worth €3,000 and is open to current third year students of the DT175 BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology.
The MOY Architectural Technology Scholar 2022-23
The MOY Architectural Technology Scholarship for 2023 was awarded at a special presentation event in TU Dublin Linenhall on Wednesday 18 January 2023. This was the first Moy Scholarship to be presented within the new School of Architecture, Building and Environment.
Glenn Moran of Moy Materials noted that ''MOY are delighted with their continued involvement with TU Dublin. The standard in 2023 was extremely high, constantly improving with each year both the quality of the submissions with really positive and engaging interviews.''
Presenting the scholarship, Glenn said ''the decision is always a difficult one and to be nominated and reach the shortlist of the final four is an amazing achievement.''
The winners were are follows:
- 1st Anastasia Petrova €3,000
- 2nd Kelly Conway €500
- 3rd Evan Brady €250
- 4th Ciaran Smith €250
The winner chosen by MOY for the 2023 Bursary award was Anastasia Petrova whose striking submission and artistic passion really shone through and MOY are delighted to award the €3,000 bursary to Anastasia and hope it will help alleviate some of the financial burden we are all experiencing as the cost of living continues to increase.
Due to the close nature of the entrants MOY are again awarded some runners up prizes to the other shortlisted students.
Kelly Conway is highly commended and the recipient of €500. Kelly showed great flair, attention to detail and encompassed a lot of key qualities essential to a career in architecture.
Evan Brady and Ciaran Smith are also commended and they certainly showed MOY an impressive portfolio with professional content. We are delighted to award Evan and Ciaran €250 each.
