About Marco

Marco Beverage Systems designs and manufactures innovative and energy-efficient beverage dispense solutions. Their clients are some of the biggest names in the coffee, foodservice and catering industries, and their beverage solutions can be found in coffee shops, offices, hotels, convenience stores and restaurants all over the world. As industry leaders with over 40 years’ experience, Marco is driven by passion for knowledge, innovation, and design.

Background

Women are underrepresented in the engineering sector with a female participation rate of less than 13%. Marco have been working hard to change this statistic and are proud to currently have nearly 30% female employees. However, they want to do more and are actively working on measures to further attract and retain female staff within a historically male dominated industry. The female breakdown of the company’s Senior Management Team has increased from 0% in 2021 to 20% in 2022 and there is 50% female participation in their Middle Management Leadership Programme. Marco is committed to changing the perception of engineering among female students by working with schools and colleges to encourage girls and women into this exciting field and supporting them throughout their studies.

Following a competitive application process, the award winner was Khulan Ankhbaatar, a second-year Mechanical Engineering student based on the Bolton Street Campus. Paul Stack, Managing Director, and Caroline Concannon, HR and Talent Manager, from Marco Beverage Systems, part of the Middleby Beverage Solution Group, visited TU Dublin to present the award and meet Ms. Ankhbaatar who will also benefit from the company’s mentorship and internship programme.
