Working in partnership with businesses, commercial partners, and representative bodies, the Enterprise Academy facilitates university-enterprise collaboration, and supports Irish-based enterprise in their talent development initiatives and long-term skills strategy. Partnership is at the heart of what we do: we intend to develop the most connected university; cultivating a network of discoverers, creators and entrepreneurs. As a key component of the University’s strategic intent – it is one of the three pillars of the strategy: People, Partnership and Planet.

As the largest Technological University in Ireland, enterprise engagement is in our DNA. We’re building on this history to develop a portfolio of innovative delivery models that enable research-informed, applied learning. This includes increased provision of enterprise-focused courses for identified skills needs, a greater focus on promoting and embedding transversal skills, and accreditation of existing programmes within enterprise.

The Enterprise Academy serves to develop, support, and enhance academic enterprise partnerships, and to showcase models of collaborative best practice. Such engagement provides a platform to address real-world challenges faced by enterprise and to support organisational/sector growth by fostering a culture of problem-solving, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Sector Specific Senior Engagement Managers

Academic enterprise partnerships also facilitate the identification of emerging sector specific priorities, and the co-development of tailor-made educational solutions to meet evolving market demands for sectors. Moreover, stakeholder engagement ensures that academic programmes are aligned with the current and future skills needs of the associated sectors, to serve as a pipeline to upskill/reskill interested professionals. These outputs can take many forms including short, sharp, bursts of learning (such as microcredentials, CPDs etc.), pathways to larger programmes (PgCert, PgDip etc.), or accredited recognition of current in-company training.
