Switch On Apprenticeship

Similar to a Science Fair, the annual Switch on Apprenticeship event runs for a morning and comprises of 5 different stations for the children to engage with. The stations are run by lecturers from different trades including furniture making, brick laying, plumbing, sheet metal working and painting.

The lecturers have developed a range of trade related interactive activities for the children to complete in 20 minutes before they move on to the next station. The children get a good sense of the work involved in each trade and during their time at 3 of the stations will get a chance to make something small they can take away with them.
